I recently became a Google Certified Educator! The process entails passing 5 Google exams. The four required subjects are: Gmail, Calendar, Docs & Drive, and Sites. Then you get to pick one elective area such as: Chromebooks, Chrome Browser, Apps, etc. There are resources available to help you study and you must pass with an 80% on each exam in order to get credit. The cost per exam is $15 each, therefore a total of $75 to get the certification. Each exam is 60 questions and you have 90 minutes to complete. I can say they are not easy and do have some thought provoking questions. I recommend taking with a partner - 2 brains are better then one right? This is a great opportunity for educators to move forward as districts make the move to county wide Gmail accounts and Google Chromebook initiatives. Shoot me an email if you have any questions!
