This weeks techie tip is called Google A Day. This is a fun way to help students practice and enhance their web research skills while discovering answers to trivia questions. This can become a neat daily activity or something to use as a filler after a test or project etc. Google A Day is fun and easy to use and will keep students engaged, plus while students are searching for the answer the search window automatically filters out published answers so the students get a spoiler free experience.
Directions:
1.Go to: http://agoogleaday.com
2. Read the question at the bottom of the page.
3.Use the provided search window to try to find the answer.
4.Click the “Show answer” link at the bottom of the page to see if you are right.
Ideas for Student Use:
1. Ask the students to guess what the answer will be before they do any searching. Give some sort of incentive to whoever was the closest.
2. Have students create their own A Google A Day questions and have each other find the answers.
